Fiona Marron is a landscape painter. She graduated from NCAD with a Diploma in Art and Design Education in 1983 and a BA in Fine Art 1984. Since 1996 she has lived and worked in her native Clane, Co. Kildare. Before this she lived in the USA and exhibited regularly there. Particularly in the Pacific Northwest.
Fiona has painted passionately and sometimes almost obsessively, the local boglands and waterways of her environment; the River Liffey making a constant appearance. Her work has the distinction of being sometimes representational and sometimes abstract, depending on the mood or feeling of energy of the place she wants to convey.
Recent trips to the West of Ireland, particularly Mayo, have inspired a new body of work.
Fiona's work is part of many private and public collections including OPW and Bank of Ireland, London branch. She is represented by The Leinster Gallery, 27 South Frederick St., Dublin 2. She is married to renowned flautist Brian Dunning and they have three boys.
